Peshawar admin reviews Eidul Azha arrangements

The district administration on Wednesday reviewed arrangements for Eidul Azha, with a focus on cattle markets, security, traffic management and sanitation across Peshawar. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retired) Sanaullah Khan and attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Daud Saleemi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief) Mehran Khan, administrative officers and officials of relevant departments.
Participants were given a detailed briefing on arrangements related to the establishment of cattle markets, provision of public facilities, security measures, traffic plans and cleanliness during the Eid days.
The deputy commissioner directed the authorities to ensure the presence of officials of all relevant departments at cattle markets established under the supervision of the district administration in all tehsils.
He instructed that facilities be provided to citizens at the markets, while veterinary doctors from the livestock department should inspect animals at entry points and ensure spraying to prevent the spread of diseases.
Mr Sanaullah also directed the authorities to improve sanitation arrangements at cattle markets and maintain smooth traffic flow and security through the deployment of police and traffic police personnel.
During the meeting, cattle market owners were instructed to strictly follow the government’s code of conduct by allocating separate spaces for animals, installing bamboo fencing and creating separate routes for visitors to facilitate the public.
Administrative officers and relevant authorities were also directed to take immediate action against illegal cattle markets to prevent traffic congestion and related problems.
