PESHAWAR
Peshawar Chamber for Small Traders & Small Industry (PCST&SI) and University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to pursue their mutual interests towards research, development and evaluate technology and analytically based solutions to the problems faced by the business community with special focus on industries in KP region, especially the SME sector.
The memorandum was signed by the President PCST&SI, Mohammad Adnan Jalil and Pro-Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Qaiser Ali respectively.
Under the arrangement, both parties will cooperate in offering training to business representatives of SME sector in KP. These trainings can take place online or face to face as per mutual agreement.
The Engineering University will provide solutions as per its IP policy to need based requests by business representatives of SME sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that may include product development of SME sector that may enhance their business process and make it cost effective and efficient.
Both parties will make joint efforts for national international grants that can help in covering costs for joint training ventures, research & development activities and other office expenditures.
PCST&SI, which is also known as Peshawar Chamber and UET will make collective efforts with the government and/or donors that may serve a great deal of benefit to SME sector.
The university will also provide support to R&D Centre at PSCT&SI as its consultancy policy and organize joint seminars, participate in advisory councils, committees and consultancy services and cooperate in publishing joint research based publications and industry based research projects.
Both parties have desired to implement activities between the two parties in a systematic manner. Therefore, from PCST&SI side, Mohammad Adnan Jalil has been nominated as focal person while Dr. Misbah Ullah, Chairman Industrial Engineering Department will be the focal person from UET Peshawar side with responsibility of coordinating the activities in general terms.
Furthermore, the research personnel from both sides will make capacity building of the other party and in such case, the concerned research personnel and trainee will have a reciprocal relationship with the receiving party.
In head of information exchange, both parties can hold joint conferences, seminars and workshops etc.
