CS-KP orders door-to-door vaccination campaign in settled districts of province from Feb, 14

With 31 percent Covid-19 positivity ratio, highest in the country, the provincial capital on Saturday reported 915 new cases of Coronavirus and one death.
A report of the health department said that 1961 fresh cases and two deaths from the Covid-19 were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the last 24 hours.
According to sources several healthcare providers have been tested positive in the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) and Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC). The number of the active cases in KP surged to 9984,while total deaths due to the virus jumped to 5996.
Health department Officials revealed that seven day positivity remains the highest in Peshawar at 31 percent, followed by Kohat at 22 percent. To meet the targets set by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the KP government has decided to launch a door-to-door Coronavirus vaccination campaign from February, 1 to Feb 14 in the settled districts of the province.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by KP Chief Secretary Dr Shehzad Khan Bangash and Deputy Commissioners of all districts including secretary health, director general health, director performance management and reforms unit attended the meeting held through video links, according to a handout.
CS-KP on the occasion stressed upon the district administrations and health body to ensure vaccination to all people in selected areas to cope with the 5th wave of pandemic.
On the occasion, the secretary health (name) informed the participants that all possible steps are being taken to achieve Coronavirus vaccination target in KP.
He informed that 40.14pc people of the province have been vaccinated against the virus.
All district administrations and other concerned agencies have intensified the vaccination campaign to achieve the vaccination targets he shared.
Dr Shehzad Khan Bangash also directed to run an awareness campaign to increase the rate of vaccination in the province.
During the virtual briefing, the secretary health informed that a door-to-door vaccination campaign is being launched in the plains from February 1 to February 14, after which a vaccination campaign will be launched in the upper or hard areas in March to achieve the vaccination targets.
He further directed the quarter concerned to impose a smart lockdown in the areas or institutions where cases come to surface
