Peshawar Region clinched the trophy after securing four victories against their respective rivals in the Prime Minister Youth Talent Hunt Program Volleyball Women League, which concluded here at G.M Khattak Indoor Hall of the Agriculture University Peshawar on Tuesday.
Hazara got the second position and Mardan got the third position.
The Inter-Region volleyball women’s event organized under the Prime Minister’s Youth Talent Hunt program has come to an end, Peshawar region has won the first position by securing four wins in all their four league matches, Hazara region has won the second position by securing two wins against Swat and Bannu while the Mardan team has won the third position with two victories.
Director of Sports University of Peshawar Bahre Karam was the special guest of the closing ceremony of the competitions held at the sports gymnasium of the agriculture university who awarded medals gold to Peshawar, silver medal to Hazara and bronze medals to Mardan while Swat played good matches and gave a tough fights to all three teams Peshawar, Hazara, Mardan but failed to win a single match. There were five sets of battles of Swat against Peshawar, Mardan and Hazara.
Former national team captain, coach and Chairman National Selection Committee Abdul Rahim Khan, Director Distance Education Dr. Noorzada, Miss Raham Bibi and other personalities were present. On this occasion, chief guest, Director of Sports Peshawar University Bahre Karam said that the main objective of the Prime Minister Youth Talent Hunt Program is to find the hidden talent among the youth. It is good that the Program attracts good talented players both female and male. He also appreciated Swat, Mardan, Peshawar, Bannu and Hazara for excellent matches.
He said that the Prime Minister Youth Talent Hunt Program attracted the youth towards positive activities, in this way organizing the activities will improve the skills of the players and these children will go ahead and brighten the name of the country and the nation. He said that there is no dearth of talent of volleyball in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so through this way, such hidden talent that is spotted would go a long way at the national and international levels.
It has made its mark in the field of sports, which is a welcoming sign, Bahre Karam, who is also Coordinator Higher Education Commissioner for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It should be clear that the selection committee will select 24 best players in the Championship, who will represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the national league, which will be held in Karachi. Yahya Jan acted as a field judge while Muazullah and Anwarullah supervised the matches of the League.
