The activities of Peshawar Zalmi have started before Pakistan Super League season eight wherein trials got under way at Jamrud Sports Complex, Khyber District and would continue till September 20, 2022.
This was stated by Director Zalmi Cricket and former fast bowler Muhammad Akram while talking to APP here on Thursday. He said this year Zalmi again announced such trials to search out talented youngsters from various districts all across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said in Khyber District players from Peshawar, Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur, Kohat, Bannu and Karak turned on the first day Thursday while on September 16 the players from various districts including Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat and North Waziristan would appear in the trials.
He said, likewise, players from Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Toghar, Upper and Lower Kohistan, Chitral and Abbottabad appear in the trials at Cricket Stadium Haripur on September 18, 2022 and on September 19 players from Swabi, Buner and Mardan would participate in the trials and on September 20 players from Charsadda, Shangla, Swat and Nowshera would appear in the trials.
Former Pacer Muhammad Akram said the trials is open to all and we want to ensure due facilities to the youth all across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to come and show their hidden skills for which the selection committee including former international world cupper Wajahat Ullah Wasti, Muhammad Fayyaz, former star batsman Inzamam Ul Haq, would monitor the performance of the players before finalizing a total of seven teams and a team selected in United Kingdom would also coming to Pakistan for the League Tournament.
He said the selection of the players in the first phase would be made through trials and later on after short-listing seven teams the performance of each selected player would be statistically monitored before taking them on board the Zalmi team in the forthcoming HBL PSL8.
He said such open trials will be held at twenty-nine places including all big and small cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Pakistan Super League will look for new talent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before the eighth season, he quoted Javed Afridi, Chairman Peshawar Zalmi as saying. Muhammad Akram lauded the talent exiting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has recorded stunning performances in the domestic cricket. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been strong in domestic cricket for the past several years, they will find more hidden talent, Muhammad Akram, Director of Cricket Peshawar Zalmi said.
Zalmi Talent Hunt is the best opportunity for the young cricketers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to show their talents, Wahab Riaz said. Zalmi Talent Hunt will bring out the best talent, Kamran Akmal said on this occasion.
