Peshawar’s positivity rate climbs to 11 pc as Covid-19 cases surge

The positivity rate of Covid-19 has climbed to 11pc in the provincial capital as the number of total positive cases jumped to 52287 on Tuesday.
During the last 24 hours, Peshawar has reported around 113 patients of Coronavirus, the provincial capital reported two deaths from the fatal virus said the health department report.
The total number of deaths reported in Peshawar from the Covid-19 since the onset of the pandemic reached 2152.
The report said that the number of total cases jumped to 52287 in Peshawar.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) reported 261 new Covid-19 cases and five fresh fatalities on Tuesday, taking the infection tally to 142400 and the death toll to 4428, the provincial health department said.
KP health department latest data show as many as 500 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, pushing the number of recovered cases to 135606.
According to the health department, during the past 24 hours, 8600 tests have been conducted for the coronavirus in the province with this, the number of total tests carried out for the infection reached 2296044.
KP Corona Virus Disease daily update shows that the Peshawar division reported 121 new Covid-19 cases and five deaths and the Mardan division 17 cases and no death casualty from the virus.
Similarly, 43 cases were reported from Malakand division, 41 cases of Covid-19 from Hazara division, 15 fresh cases reported from Kohat division, 12 fresh cases reported from Bunnu division while the Dera-Ismail Khan division has also reported 12 case of the virus.
Besides, Director General (DG) health KP has ordered to initiate an inquiry against the health staff after certain complaints regarding Covid-19 certificate with vaccination.
According to sources, the health department has received several complaints that at far plunge areas of the province health centers have allegedly provided coronavirus vaccination certificate without vaccination.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, DG health has said that action would be taken those health official found guilty of giving vaccination certificate without vaccination.
The provincial government has removed three officials, including district health officers from their posts after alleged misappropriation of vaccine in Takhtbai tehsil of Mardan.
