Peshawar:Seven policemen & a passerby injured in roadside blast

Peshawar: At least eight persons including seven policemen and a passerby have been injured in a roadside blast near Warsak Road area in Peshawar.
Rapid Response Force (RRF) Police officials were patrolling in a van in Darmangi area on Thursday when a bomb planted in the Speed breakers exploded injuring eight persons including a passerby.
The heavy contingent of Police, BDS, and Rescue teams reached the area and cordoned-off the area.
The injured were rushed to local Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar for medical treatment, where the doctors provided them medical treatment. One among the injured is critical condition.
The law enforcing agencies have started search operations, however, no arrests has been made till the filing of this report
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested a wanted terrorist during crackdown here on Thursday.
According to details, the CTD Malakand Region conducted operation in Koz Shor locality of Swat valley during which they apprehended a wanted terrorist Sardar Ali. The detainee was involved in attacks on security forces in 2008 in which several security personnel were martyred and injured.
The nabbed terrorist was shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
In Peshawar, at least two policemen were critically injured in a hand grenade attack on a police mobile here on Thursday.
According to details, unidentified miscreants hurled hand grenade at mobile van of police on Warsak Road in Darmangi locality of the provincial capital Peshawar. The vehicle was partially damaged in the attack resulting in injuries to two cops who were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar by rescue personnel.
The police cordoned off the area after the attack and launched search operation for the attackers but no arrest could be made.

CTD apprehends an alleged terrorist in Malakand

Malakand : Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have apprehended an alleged terrorist in Malakand, a district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
On a tip-off, CTD conducted a search operation in Malakand area and rounded up a terrorist. The terrorist was identified as Sardar Ali who was allegedly involved in attacks on security forces. The CTD said that Ali had carried out a remote controlled blast at the security forces in 2008 in which two security men lost their lives whereas two others were wounded.
The CTD shifted the suspect to undisclosed location for investigation.
