Petition against contesting polls from 9 constituencies by Imran dismissed

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed the petition filed against contesting election from 9 constituencies by Imran Khan being withdrawn by the petitioner. The petition filed against contesting of election by Imran Khan from 9 constituencies came up for hearing before LHC Thursday. The court inquired during the hearing of the case has the candidate filed nomination papers from 9 constituencies. The counsel said the last day for filing nomination papers in respect of 9 constituencies is August 13 Saturday. The court said the respective forum is election commission and as to why the petition has not been filed therein. How the cause of action is made before the court unless the nomination papers are filed. Court has no powers till the filing of nomination papers. The court dismissed the petition filed against contesting election from 9 constituencies by Imran Khan being withdrawn by the petitioner.
