Ban on PTM
PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued decision on the petition filed by Manzoor Pashteen against ban on outfit Pashtoon Tahafuz Movement (PTM). The decision said the petitions have right to file review petition against the decision. Justice Sahibzada Asadullah authored 62-page decision. According to court’s decision court rejected the petition against ban on PTM. The approval for imposing ban on PTM was given by federal cabinet. Federal government took the step as per law and prescribed procedure. ONLINE
As per decision the petitioners have right to file appeal plea against the decision. Filing writ direct in high court without resorting to review committee is non maintainable.
High Court said in the decision Attorney General Office had filed relevant sealed envelope related to reasons for ban in the court.
The court returned the sealed envelope after reviewing it.
