Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday announced that there would be no change in the prices of petroleum products for the next fortnight.
In a televised address, he said the government has decided to maintain the price of petrol products in spite of a surge in the international market. As for high speed diesel, there will be no change and it will remain unchanged from Jan 1 to 15.
Dar said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s fuel price summary was received by the finance ministry, adding that it had a price increase recommendation for petrol, kerosene, light diesel oil and high-speed diesel. However, the government decided to maintain the existing prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days, he added.
