PHC grants bail to PTI leaders Asad Qaiser, Anwar Taj till July 3rd

Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday granted bails to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Asad Qaiser and Anwar Taj till July 3 in cases registered against them in Islamabad in connection with the protest demonstration following the arrest of its party chairman and former premier Imran Khan on May 9.
Justice Waqar Aham of the PHC, while hearing the case, approved the bails of the former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Anwar Taj against the surety bonds of Rs100, 000.
The apex court of the province also barred the police from arresting the leaders of PTI till July 3 in the cases registered against them in Islamabad. The PHC ruled that if both leaders of PTI failed to appear before July 3, the orders of the court will be deemed withdrawn.
It is pertinent to mention here that the district and session court of Islamabad on Tuesday rejected the bail applications of the abovementioned leaders of PTI in cases registered against them in connection with May 9 protest demonstrations.
Additional Session Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, while announcing its reserved judgment, rejected Qaiser’s bail petitions in a case registered against him at Sangjani police station.
As per record submitted in the Islamabad High Court, six FIRs have been registered against PTI senior leader Asad Qaiser.
