Raising grave concern over the continued falling trend of Pakistan exports the Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) on Saturday said that the country’s textile exports dipped for the fifth consecutive month as shipments dropped by almost 30% year-on-year to $1.20 billion in Feb 2023, indicating that the government has failed to win the confidence of the business community due to continued rupee deprecation and uncertainty.
PIAF Chairman Faheem ur Rehaman Saigol, quoting the latest figures, stated that the overall exports during July-February 2022-23 totalled $18.678 billion against $20.57 billion during the corresponding period of last year, showing a decrease of 9.21 percent while the exports in Feb 2023 were $2.19 billion compared to $2.24 billion of Jan 2023 showing a decrease of 2.36 percent and by 22.69 percent respectively.
