ISLAMABAD (INP) Rawalpindi Arts Council arranged a family drama ‘Azadi’ In connection with Independence Day celebrations, based on national solidarity written and directed by Syed Saleem Afandi. Member Punjab Assembly Lubna Rehan Pirzada accompanied by Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director Waqar Ahmed was chief guest of the drama.
The play was a contradiction of two civilization like East and West. The young generation of the modern era of this region do not know even the names of our heroes like Muhammad Bin Qasim, Tariq Bin Ziyad and others. The adopting of western civilization by our young generation, delay in legal decisions, fanaticism in religion, and non implementation of women protection bill have further deteriorate the situation. Sapna Shah, Saleem Afandi, Liaqat Shah, Jhalak Ali, Tahir Sherazi, Ali Shan, Fahad Sheikh, Salman, Abdul Sattar, Saleem Qureshi, Arshad Mirza, Imran Ch, Anjum Abbasi, Naeem Khan and Masood Khawaja were included in the leading cost of the drama.
Member Punjab Assembly Lubna Rehan Pirzada addressing at the occasion, said that Rawalpindi Arts Council is the sole place of entertainment in the region where families of twin cities came and watch the drama with all family members.
“We are forgetting our civilization by adopting western civilization which is a tragedy”, She added.
