PM approves NIC to create harmony & better contacts among civil, military intelligence

ISLAMABAD, November 28 (Online): On the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the National Intelligence Committee (NIC) led by Federal Interior Secretary has been established to create harmony and better contacts, among civil and military intelligence institutions.
According to Interior Ministry sources, the official notification of NIC has been issued.
The committee led by Interior Secretary includes DG ISPR, DG Intelligence Bureau (IB), DG FIA, Inspector General (IG) of Police Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad and IGs of all the other four provinces.
In addition, the representatives of Military Operation Directorate has also been included in the committee.
According to sources, the committee can appoint anyone as a member and will work according to the given terms.
This committee will ensure communication within, to prevent terrorism and will transfer information among each other. The committee will call the meeting, when needed, to overview the situation.
Whereas, the committee will move forward according to the combined action plan, to eliminate terrorism and vanquish anti-national elements activity.
The sources further said that this committee has been established, after the approval of PM Imran Khan, whose main purpose is to promote close contacts among civil and military intelligence.
