ISLAMABAD
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Friday directed to provide more and more relief to the public and mobilise the workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Punjab.
During a meeting held at Prime Minister’s House to review the political situation in the country, the prime minister consulted with the party leaders on the future strategy of the PML-N. Consultation on mass contact campaign and on preparations for the upcoming general elections were also held.
Issues related to preparations for the local bodies’ elections in Punjab and federal capital were also considered. A briefing on providing relief to the people was also conducted during the meeting.
The prime minister directed to provide more and more relief to the public, and he also asked the party leaders to mobilise the PML-N workers in Punjab. “The false narrative of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been exposed before the nation. We will provide relief to the people. Facts will be laid before the nation. Effective measures are being taken for the betterment of the youth,” he added.
“Imran Khan destroyed not only economy but also politics and morals. Using youths for nefarious purposes is lamentable,” he deplored. The Prime Minister has directed his party leaders to highlight the economic achievements of the coalition government at all public meetings – a strategy to counter PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s narrative that the government has failed to deliver.
The premier said the economic policies of the previous government (PTI) had brought Pakistan on the verge of default but the coalition government took drastic measures to prevent the crisis. He directed the party leaders to highlight the difference between the measures taken by the PDM and PTI governments to provide relief to the inflation-stricken people.
He also asked them to counter the PTI narrative that the country was going to face default. Meanwhile, the PML-N is set to organise workers conventions in Kasur, Sheikhupura and Swat. Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique and Malik Ahmed Khan will address the gathering in Kasur while Mian Javed Latif and others will address the convention in Sheikhupura. Amir Muqam will lead the convention in Swat.
