PMAS-AAUR awarded 93 scholarships amounting to Rs1.2b under PM’s Tuition Fee Reimbursement Scheme

Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi has awarded 93 scholarships amounting to Rs. 1.2 Billion to the Ph.D. students under Prime Minister’s Tuition Fee Reimbursement Scheme as per the HEC uplifting education standards.
The ceremony was arranged by the Directorate of Financial Assistance & University Advancement where Prof. Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman the vice-chancellor of the university participated as the chief guest along with other faculty members.
During his address Pro. Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman said that Prime Minister’s Tuition Fee Reimbursement scheme for the under privileged areas is an excellent step towards promotion of education for those areas.
He said despite Corona’s impact on Pakistan’s economy, the government has made education a priority, which is why there is not a single student at Arid University today whose tuition fees remained undue.
He exhorted the students that there is no superior degree in this world than a Ph.D. and they are amongst them who have got this opportunity. He advised the recipient Ph.D. scholars to remain focused on field work & research activities and work hard to achieve their individual as well as collective objectives.
He also said that currently there are enough funding and facilities are available for research activities so the students and their respective supervisors should utilize facilities for innovative research.
While highlighting the steps taken by the university towards quality education Dr Qamar said that the Senior Management of the University is committed for quality education and research opportunities, therefore we have hired qualified PhD faculty and scientific laboratories have been established in every department are being regularly upgraded. At the end he wished the recipients and thanked HEC for their generous funding.
