PTI leader Shafqat Mehmood has confirmed that PML-Q has demanded seat adjustment on 30 Punjab Assembly (PA) seats and 15 National Assembly (NA) seats in return for its support to PTI.
He also ruled out possibility of dissolution of PA on Friday saying first the matters of motions will be resolved and then turn for dissolution of assembly will come.
Talking to a private TV channel he said conducting voting on no trust motion is necessary because it is imperative legally.
The Chief Minister (CM) Punjab will have to seek the vote of confidence to prove his majority in the house. The law is silent what happens first and what will happen later. I think the matter will go to court now.
To a question about seat to seat adjustment with PML-Q he said that when election time comes then seat adjustment among the allied parties is made. Now PA is going to be dissolved and later election will be held. Seat to seat adjustment is necessary in this regard.
Confirming the PML-Q demand of seat to seat adjustment on 15 seats of NA and 30 seats of PA he said this is correct. However there can be change in the number of seats.
He went on to say that PML-Q is our revered ally. We will take along them with us. When the allies have to be taken along then some has to be given.
Ruling out possibility of dissolution of PA on Friday he said had the matters of vote of confidence and no confidence motion not come then assembly would have been dissolved on Friday. But now the matters of motions will be resolved first and then the turn for the dissolution of assembly will come.
