Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio Eradication Ayesha Raza Farooq called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Dr Muhammad Fakhare Alam Irfan at the Chief Secretary’s Office in Peshawar on Monday.
During the meeting, they discussed ongoing efforts to eradicate polio from the province, said a press release.
The meeting reviewed the current polio situation, the outcomes of recent vaccination campaigns and the challenges still being faced. Participants examined micro-planning for the campaigns, a coordinated strategy, campaign monitoring and quality assurance, and measures to ensure that every child is reached.
Detailed consultations were also held on conducting a uniform, simultaneous anti-polio campaign across the entire province. The participants described the approach as crucial to controlling the spread of the virus.
The meeting reaffirmed that eradicating polio is a national mission requiring collective effort, and that all available resources would be employed to achieve this goal.
