Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, has said that the youth must cultivate a profound awareness and comprehensive understanding of the philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, as his enduring message continues to provide both intellectual illumination and spiritual guidance for the establishment of a progressive and dynamic society.
He added that the poetry of Allama Iqbal serves as a role model for shaping character and inspiring a purposeful life.
He expressed these remarks while addressing the students of Jamia Ashrafia at Iqbal Hall, Badshahi Mosque, during a seminar titled “Role of Madaris Deenia in the Light of Fikar-e-Iqbal” held here yesterday.
The seminar was attended by Naib Mohtamim Jamia Ashrafia Maulana Hafiz Asad Ubaid and Maulana Hafiz Zubair Hassan, along with 50 students of Jamia Ashrafia.
Khateeb Badshahi Mosque Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, Administrator Badshahi Mosque Shahid Hameed Virk, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the delegation visited the historic Badshahi Mosque, where they were briefed on its rich Islamic heritage, architectural excellence, and centuries-old spiritual legacy.
The participants closely observed preserved Islamic relics, including rare manuscripts, sacred artifacts, and historical objects associated with the Muslim heritage of the subcontinent.
They appreciated the meticulous preservation efforts, the mosque’s majestic Mughal architecture, and the dignified arrangements made for visitors.
Dr. Ehsan Bhutta further stated that religious seminaries play a pivotal role in preserving Islamic values while guiding the younger generation towards constructive and progressive thinking.
He emphasized that by adopting the principles of Fikar-e-Iqbal, students can develop a strong sense of identity, responsibility, and leadership, enabling them to contribute effectively to national development.
He also urged scholars and teachers to integrate contemporary understanding with traditional teachings to meet the evolving needs of society.
Naib Mohtamim Jamia Ashrafia Maulana Hafiz Asad Ubaid emphasized that Madaris Deenia should align their educational approach with the philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal to foster self-awareness, discipline, and ideological clarity among students. He said Fikar-e-Iqbal is essential for character building and preparing youth for national service with integrity and purpose.
Naib Mohtamim Jamia Ashrafia Maulana Hafiz Zubair Hassan highlighted that the teachings of Allama Muhammad Iqbal must be systematically integrated into religious discourse and curriculum.
He said Iqbal’s message promotes unity, intellectual awakening, and a balanced understanding of faith and modern challenges, serving as a guiding light for the younger generation.
Khateeb Badshahi Mosque Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad underscored the importance of incorporating Iqbal’s thought into sermons and academic discourse. He stated that Iqbal’s vision integrates spirituality with practical life, encouraging students to become responsible, enlightened, and value-driven citizens.
The seminar concluded with a special supplication for the progress, prosperity, and stability of Pakistan, as well as for the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
