PESHAWAR: Police in Agha Mir Jani Shah police station have arrested several suspects during a crackdown on drug smuggling, illegal weapons, display of arms and other criminal activities, officials said on Friday. The Capital City Police Peshawar said the operations were being carried out to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities in the city. On the directives of SP City Division Shahid Adnan and under the supervision of DSP Yakatoot Circle Asif Sharif, SHO Agha Mir Jani Shah and Science College Chowki In-charge Zeeshan Khan, along with other police personnel, conducted raids in different areas. Several suspects, identified as Mohammad, Mohammad Ibrahim and Saddam, were arrested during the operations. Police said they recovered a rifle, 3,690 grammes of hashish, six pistols and several rounds of ammunition from the possession of the arrested suspects. Cases have been registered against the suspects, and further investigation is under way. Crime Reporter
