On the directives of SP City Division Khalid Khan, a police team led by DSP Hashtnagari Zahoor Khan and SHO Shaheed Gulfat Hussain Police Station Javed Khan successfully arrested two thieves involved in stealing goods worth lakhs of rupees from citizens on Ashraf Road.
A statement issued here, police said that the arrested persons used loader rickshaws to transport stolen food items from commercial centres.
The arrested suspects, identified as Hasnain, a resident of Ganj, and Shahid, a resident of Budhu Samar Bagh, confessed to their crimes during initial investigations.
Ten sacks of stolen sugar were recovered from their possession, along with weapons seized from other criminals.
The operation was launched following a complaint by Abdul Wahid, who reported the theft of food items.
CCTV footage from various locations, including Ashraf Road, was analysed using modern investigative techniques, leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
SP Khalid Khan commended the police team for their swift action and emphasised that further investigations are underway to recover more stolen goods and identify any accomplices.
