Bhanamari police on Sunday traced a gang of burglars and arrested its prime accused. Police claimed the accused had looted a house in the Mankrao area that falls in the limits of Bahamani Police Station.
The arrested accused has been identified as Husnain from Nothia area of Peshawar.
Station House Officer (SHO) Noor Haider Khan told reporters that during interrogation, the accused was allegedly involved in the crime when family members of the house were absent.
He informed that stolen gold, ornaments, looted money and other valuables have been recovered from the arrested person.
Following the incident and on the complaint of house owner, Noor Haider Khan along with the investigative staff conducted an investigation and interrogated several suspects.
Finally, police traced the gang and successfully arrested prime accused from Nothia area, he added.
A special team led by DSP Mukhtiar Ali was formed and prime accused was held.
In a separate crackdown on anti social elements, SHO Noor Haider Khan arrested wanted criminal Hadi Gul resident of Ahmadkhel Badhbar area.
Police claimed that the arrested person was allegedly involved in thieves from a house last. The other members of the gang had been arrested and were sent to behind the bars.
Police have registered cases against the accused and launched the investigation.
