Capital City Police finalised a comprehensive security plan for Eid-ul-Azha to provide security to cover to congregations and other public places.
According to a statement issued here on Friday, more than 4,000 police personnel would be deployed at public place besides exit and entry points of the provincial capital.
SSP Operations Peshawar Lieutenant Commander (Retd) Kashif Aftab Abbasi has directed all divisional SPs to ensure implementation of the plan and intensify their ongoing operations against criminal elements. In order to ensure law and order situation in Peshawar, holidays of the police cops have been cancelled and increased the number of police squads and police mobile patrols in Peshawar.
Kashif Aftab Abbasi has directed the police to tight their surveillance and additional police personnel deployed at all major bazaars and highways in the city.
In addition to sniffer dogs, ladies policemen and bomb disposal squads, City Patrol Force, Ababil Squad and police armored vehicles were also put on alert on Eid-days.
Police have also initiated the process of information-based special targeted search and strike operations in different parts of the provincial capital.
The SSP operation also referred to the special task force of the four divisional SPs and directed them to take action without any discrimination and appealed to the citizens to refrain from aerial firing.
