Islamabad High Court (IHC) while rejecting police report during hearing of case against drugs has remarked police is engaged on VIP duty instead of eliminating drugs and crimes.
The case against use of drugs in educational institutions came up for hiring in IHC Thursday.
The court while declaring Islamabad police report against the law gave indication to initiate proceedings.
The court remarked Islamabad police report is not in conformity with law.
The court summoned AIG of Islamabad police who compiled report.
Earlier it was told in the application filed by Islamabad police in the court duty of VIPs is more sensitive. It takes more time. Police is engaged in maintaining law and order situation.
Later Justice Inam Amin Minhas issued written order.
The order said reply of Islamabad police was pointed out before the court. Islamabad police is engaged in VIP duty rather than eliminating drugs crimes.
The court said lack of police interest in elimination of drugs crimes in educational institutions shows their incompetence. Report is not correct as per law. The police officer who compiled report should appear before court in person. As to why proceedings be not initiated on filing such report. As to why action be not taken on failure to discharge duty as per law.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case for one month.
