Police kills two extortionists in Peshawar operation


Police said on Sunday that they killed two extortionists while one policeman was also injured in a shoot-out in Peshawar.
Addressing a press conference, the Capital City Police Officer Abbas Ahsan said two brothers Sherakai and Sherzai, Afghan nationals, were wanted by the police in extortions and cases of murder, attempted murder and encounters with the cops. two were real brothers.
“Police killed the two gangsters during en encounter last night as they were involved in murders, attempted murders and extortions and other crimes,” the official said.
He said the proclaimed offenders opened fire on the police party in Nasir Bagh when they conducted a raid.
“One constables received a firearm injury in the leg while one station house officer escaped a bullet as he was having a bulletproof jacket that time during the action,” he added.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Haroon ur Rashid and SP Cantt Zunair Ahmad Cheema were also present.
He said that besides other killings, the two men had also murdered their father and a cousin.
“Once they had shot dead an injured man in the Lady Reading Hospital’s Emergency Department where he had been brought for treatment,” Ahsan said.
An old video from that incident was also displayed at the press conference, and it showed a man killing an injured person in hospital with firing.
