Rawalpindi: In a firing incident which was targeted at a police van, one policeman got killed while 2 police officers including a sub-inspector were injured within the limits of Pir Wadhai police station of Rawalpindi on Tuesday. Constable Khurram Shaheed who was shot has lost his life in the incident as he couldn’t survive the intensity of wounds caused by the bullets, whereas 2 officers including a sub-inspector were injured and they are under treatment, police sources told. According to the police, accused were on a motorcycle hiding their identity by covering their faces. They opened fire at the police van and fled after the firing. IGP Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan while taking notice of the matter ordered to furnish a report of the incident. However, the culprits are still at large and further investigations are underway. After interrogation the case will be forwarded for criminal proceedings against the culprits. Online
