To sensitize the disease, polio awareness walks were separately carried out in all three subdivisions of Khyber last day.
Under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner(AC),Landi Kotal Irshad Mohmand,AC Jamrud Shakeel Ahmad and AC Bara Shahabuddin an awareness walks were separately organized in all three subdivisions that was attended by the administrative and health officials, elders, representatives of local bodies and members of civil society.
Speaking on the occasions speakers said that it is the duty of the parents of children below five years to feed polio vaccine to their children, to secure their children’s future from the crippling diseases.
The health officials were of the view that polio virus was present in the environment and could attack any child without vaccination therefore the parents should save their children from disabilities and administer polio vaccine to them.
They urged the parents to join hands with them to eliminate the curse of polio from the country and to make Pakistan free of polio.
The seven days long anti-polio is scheduled to be commenced from June 27, 2022 and will continue till July 03, 2022 in which the health workers beside security and administrative officials visit door to door to vaccinate the children below five years.
