PESHAWAR
A comprehensive polio campaign will kick off on October 24 during which children in 28 districts, including tribal districts, of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be administered anti-polio drops.
Approximately, 18747 frontline polio workers will go house to house to ensure children’s protection from the crippling poliovirus.
Special Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Pervaiz Khan while chairing an important meeting of the Provincial Security Coordination Committee regarding polio shared that all necessary arrangements for the drive have been completed.
The meeting was attended by high-ups of district administrations and the police department.
He said that the drive will be launched in a total 28 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that the polio campaign will cover 17 districts completely while in some areas of 11 districts children will also be administered the ant- polio vaccines.
According to a statement, Special Secretary Pervaiz Khan informed that 16789 mobile, 746 transit, 1147 fixed and 65 roaming teams will participate in the polio campaign in designated districts of the province.
The Special Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs directed quarters concerned to maintain best coordination to make the campaign successful.
He said that full-proof security arrangements will be made for the security of polio teams.
