Population dept field staff stage demo outside KP Assembly

The employees of the Field Staff Association Department of Population Welfare Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Tuesday staged a protest outside the Provincial Assembly to press the government to approve their health professional allowance, service structure and other demands.
Hundreds of employees of the department demonstrated outside the KP Assembly and chanted slogans against the provincial government.
The employees urged the government to provide them the same salaries and promotion like that of Lady Health Visitor (LHV) of the Health Department.
According to the charter of demands of the association to upgrade FTOs to BPS 17 as the door of promotions closed on them. Family Welfare Assistants male and female to be given service structure as well as time scale and up gradation.
Additionally, the government should also increase the TA of employees in line with the inflation ratio.
They also demanded of the government that the case of the district and tehsil supervisors should be implemented as per SNE 2021-22.
The duty timing of the Family Welfare Centers should be made equal to the health department Basic Health Unit, they demanded.
The employees blocked the Khyber road to traffic despite calls from police not to do so.
The field staff from different districts of the province gathered outside the KP Assembly and blocked the road for hours and chanted slogans against the provincial government for its failure to meet their long standing demands.
They said the provincial assembly members had increased their own perks and privileges, but ignored the poor employees in this regard.
The police asked the protesters not to block the road, but they were not ready to obey them. The road was opened after hours when the protesters departed for their concerned districts.
