Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Wednesday said that electricity demand in its region stood at 766 megawatts against an available quota of 810 megawatts, ensuring adequate supply with no load management during daytime.
Talking to APP, an IESCO spokesperson said that power supply remained stable even during peak hours last night, with only one to two hours of load management carried out where required.
He said that peak-time load management was necessitated due to the limited availability of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) and lower hydel generation.
The spokesperson assured that an uninterrupted electricity supply was being maintained during daytime hours, adding that load management carried out on economic grounds had no connection with peak-time load management.
He explained that the purpose of load management was to maintain system stability and ensure balance between electricity supply and demand.
He further clarified that temporary outages caused by system faults should not be considered load management.
Consumers were advised to report any faults by dialing 118 or contacting the nearest IESCO office, adding that complaint staff remained fully active to promptly address all reported issues.
