NOWSHERA: A power pilferer attacked and injured a Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) lineman in Jahangira area of Nowshera on Friday. According to reports, Azmat son of Gulnar attacked the PESCO team, which had gone to the area as part of a crackdown on power thieves, with a sharp-edged weapon due to which Jameel Akhtar, the lineman, received serious injuries in his back. He was immediately taken to hospital. Later PESCO chief Qazi Muhammad Tahir went to the hospital to inquire after him. Azmat also allegedly hurled threats at the PESCO team.
