PESHAWAR
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, on Saturday emphasized the crucial role of women in the development and prosperity of any society.
In his message on International Women’s Day, he reiterated that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has always been at the forefront of protecting women’s rights and dignity.
He highlighted that the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was to provide equal opportunities to women so they could excel in all fields, adding Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is actively working to fulfill this mission.
Kundi said that as Governor, he has prioritized women’s empowerment and youth engagement, aligning with the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
He further remarked that Benazir Bhutto, as Pakistan’s first female Prime Minister, set a precedent for women and introduced numerous reforms for their welfare during her tenure.
He said that the PPP has consistently taken practical steps to safeguard women’s rights, promote gender equality, and empower them. A notable example of such efforts is the Benazir Income Support Program, he added.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi praised Asifa Bhutto Zardari’s efforts for women’s empowerment and social welfare. He acknowledged her dedication to continuing Benazir Bhutto’s vision for gender equality in Pakistan.
Governor Kundi stressed the need for more effective initiatives for women’s development and welfare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure equal opportunities in all sectors.
He reaffirmed that the Governor House Peshawar will continue its efforts to protect women’s rights, striving to create a society where women can confidently utilize their talents and contribute to the country’s progress.
