PPP will not tolerate any attack, enough is enough: Bilawal dares PM

Says PM Imran’s threats to Asif Ali Zardari unacceptable
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday said that threats of Prime Minister Imran Khan to former president and co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are unacceptable.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that his first target would be Asif Ali Zardari on whom his gun has been pointing at for a long time. Bilawal, while responding to statement of the premier, said that he has never used a gun but knows how to use it. Will respond to politics through politics but such threats are not acceptable, he stressed.
Talking about incident of a drone hitting Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman demanded investigation of the attack by agencies and claimed the incident was an attempt to send a message to him and his father. Bilawal Bhutto further said that Imran Khan is using more foul language as he could see his end coming.
In a detailed statement, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that since the Awami march started on 27 February, there have been two incidents which are unbearable and cannot be tolerated. “The attack on Aseefa Bibi is unbearable. I have shown patience because I believe in freedom of the media. I watched the video in every way, from every angle. It did not look like an accident. The attack, which hit my sister directly, was a message to us.
It was a message for me and my father regarding us working for the restoration of democracy. The PPP has sacrificed Shaheed Quaid-e-Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mir Murtaza Bhutto, Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Now, no more. The Prime Minister is threatening President Zardari with a gun. We will not tolerate this; we do not trust this government. Chairman Bilawal requested government agencies including the ISI to investigate this incident. We will decide the future course of action, he said. He further stated that the attack on Asif Zardari is unbearable,” Bilawal said.
The Chairman PPP said that the allegations of corruption have been proved wrong repeatedly. The people are sick and tired of hearing this script. They have been hearing about the alleged of President Zardari for the past 30 years but it has not been proved till date. What Imran Khan will do after leaving the post of the prime minister is no known. The intention behind imprisoning Zardari Sahib and Faryal Talpur was to make them succumb. They thought that Zardari Sahib would leave the country and Imran’s rule would be given a free hand.
Despite this, broken or going out, we will take care of you first, Chairman Bilawal said. First we will send you home democratically. All cases were heard in the court during the tenure of former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. President Asif Ali Zardari was honorably acquitted of all these false cases. Imran Khan is facing a foreign funding case and according to it, he was funded by Israel and India.
Akbar S. Babar was his party’s main member and exposed the foreign funding. By building a hospital in the name of his mother and raising money in the name of poor patients, Imran Khan runs his kitchen. The US court has given a verdict against Imran Khan, which is true. I have never said a word about the first lady. His sister, Aleema Khan has been involved in corruption and made a fortune by selling sewing machines. The bureaucracy in Punjab is telling stories of the first lady’s corruption. No transfer and posting is done in Punjab without giving the first lady money.
Chairman PPP asked Imran Khan to request the first lady to pray for the latter. Imran Khan should also pray for President Zardari to form the next government. Otherwise, Shahbaz Sharif will appoint a strong interior minister.
Who are you to speak against Maulana Fazlur Rehman? Do you know who Maulana Mufti Mahmood was?
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he has endured a lot but will not tolerate any more. “I have the blood of Asif Zardari, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Shaheed Quaid-e-Awam in my veins.” Now, we will not tolerate a single thing. No one will be able to bear our reaction. Politics is everyone’s right but hurling threats to life will not be tolerated. This is a modern country, we are living in 2022 and have the right to do politics peacefully.
We hope that the environment will be kept peaceful. I had said at the long march that Imran Khan will become desperate as we near Islamabad and will start using foul language more and more. Abuse will neither save his chair nor will his lies work. After being in the government for 3 years, he says that Zardari and the PPP are his target. This PPP has always been the target of him and people like him. In every era, we have talked about the rights of the people and saved the country.
The PPP fought him from the day one. “The world today knows you by the name of selected, the name that I gave you”. The PPP along with the PDM gave him a tough time in the parliament. The whole nation saw the distrust in the Senate election. The PPP will stand firm, not only against him but every selected person.
Chairman Bilawal congratulated and thanked the people of the whole country for participating in the Awami march. The people together have made it a historic march as the march has become a no-confidence motion. The people of all the provinces were involved in this long march and rejected this selected Prime Minister. Now that the PPP has done its job, it is the responsibility of the parliament.
Now, we have to fulfil the expectations of the people. The day when the parliament removes this black spot from itself is not far. We will correct this 2018 mistake as soon as the session is called. We are still talking about democracy. If we had demanded a sit-in, the people would still be present. We cannot even think of attacking in an undemocratic way, but we could. For ten days, the people who were suffering from inflation kept walking with the PPP.
Responding to questions, Chairman PPP said that the issue of the attack on Aseefa Bibi and the threat by the Prime Minister are being looked at by our legal team. The attitude of the government has helped us in tabling this no-confidence motion because this government is run dictatorially. It would be better for the government’s allies to come with us as it will give a very good message. Regarding what would happen after dislodging the government, he said that the new government will be formed just for carrying out electoral reforms after which free and fair elections will be held. He said that due to the pressure of our historic Awami march, Imran had to reduced petrol and electricity prices.
When we reached South Punjab and announced a separate province, Imran started saying the same. As far as the role of the establishment is concerned, our history is witness to it not being good. We had reservations about the 2018 elections as well. This no-confidence is a test of the establishment and we will see what the role of everyone during this process is. We want early elections after the electoral reforms so that the new government can help this country emerge from the crisis. He said that there is only one Nadeem Afzal Chan in Pakistan whereas the other mentioned name (Fawad Chaudhary) can be found in any market.
The government’s effort to interpret the constitution is childish. This is the no-confidence and will not be the same as the Chairman Senate elections. The constitution is very clear about when a person is disqualified. Who is with and against Imran Khan will be apparent to all. Imran Khan will not be able to rig this no-confidence. His efforts are desperate and will not work.
It merits mention that Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Wednesday that after winning the trust of the lower house, he would turn his gun towards former president Asif Zardari. Addressing charged PTI workers at the Governor House in Karachi, PM Imran Khan claimed that the motion is the “political death” of the Opposition.
“I was telling my team that they (Opposition) have done what I was praying for,” said PM Imran while speaking to the party workers during his day-long visit to Karachi — which was aimed at gaining assurance from MQM-P for their support amid the no-trust motion. “No-confidence motion is their political death,” PM Imran Khan told his workers about the Opposition. =DNA
