Practical measures should be taken for the rehabilitation of sick and closed industrial units: Zahir

The Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry(MCCI) President Zahir Shah has demanded the government to take practical steps to revive the sick and closed industrial units in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so as to create maximum employment opportunities through industrial development in the province.
Should be done while the State Bank of Pakistan(STP) should issue instructions to the commercial banks to increase the landing rate in the province like other parts of the country including providing facilities to businesses and investors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He expressed these views in Mardan Talking to media representatives on Tuesday.
He said that being the Prime Chamber of Pakistan, Mardan Chamber has played a key role in helping/assistance of helpless people in natural calamities including promoting investment and providing relief to the community in the province.
Most of the province’s business and industry imports are linked to mutual trade and transit with Afghanistan. However, there has been a decline in Pakistan-Afghan mutual trade for the past several years, which has had a profound impact on the country’s economy.
Zahir Shah emphasized that there is an urgent need to take measures at the government level for the immediate solution of the problems faced in Pak-Afghan mutual trade and transit trade.
And the bureaucracy acts as a bridge between the government and the business community, which is the main means of direct communication with the government in solving problems related to the departments of the community.
Referring to the Pakistan China Economic Corridor project, he said that (CPEC) is the guarantor of the economic development and prosperity of Pakistan / Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while also playing a key role in the promotion of regional trade.
He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is rich in natural resources. Mall is where there are rare opportunities for investment in various important sectors, but the natural reserves in the province could not be dealt with in a better way. He further said that the province has the capacity to generate 50,000 megawatts of electricity.
Zahir Shah said that due to the ongoing electricity and gas crisis in the country, the wheel of industries has stopped, which is the economy of the province, especially the country. is destructive to Before formulating the economic policies, the business community should be taken into full confidence so that these policies can yield far-reaching results and stabilize the country’s economy and lead it on the path of development.
He strongly demanded the federal and provincial government to take immediate steps to remove the obstacles in Pak-Afghan trade/transit, the problems faced by the industrial development and business community in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
