President Arif Alvi has accorded approval to the appointment of Jamil Ahmad as governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
President has given approval on the advice of Prime Minister under article 48/1 of the constitution and section 11-A/1 of state bank of Pakistan act.
Finance ministry has issued the notification on appointment of new governor State Bank of Pakistan.
According to notification former deputy governor state bank of Pakistan Jamil Ahmad has been appointed as governor of state bank. He was earlier inducted as deputy governor State bank on October 25, 2018 for three years. He has 30 years experience in banking sector. The post of permanent governor state bank had fallen vacant following the completion of his term by former governor state bank Raza Baqir Dr Murtaza Syed was performing the duty of acting governor state bank.
