President Arif Alvi held meeting with Khyber Pakhtun Khawa (KPK) governor Haji Ghulam Ali to discuss the holding of general election in KPK on Tuesday.
According to source President Alvi met KPK governor Haji Ghulam Ali in president house.
President and governor discussed constitutions article-224(2) and Supreme Court (SC) orders to hold general election.
President advised governor to announce election date after consultation with election commission.
During meeting President stressed upon the upholding the constitution and necessity of holding general election within determined period.
He said constitution declared election compulsory. SC recognized it. Timely election will strengthen the parliamentary democracy in the country.
