ISLAMABAD: President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Aamir Ali Ahmad visited markets including Melody and Abpara here on Thursday. The main purpose of the visit was to indicate the issues being faced by the business community so that steps can be taken for their resolutions. They inspected the current situation of the markets and discussed with the businessmen regarding the developmental works in the markets.
Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan told the Chairman CDA at the occasion that there is issue of parking in both Abpara and Melody due to which the businessmen feel difficulty in running their activities. CDA should resolve this issue of the business community. Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan assured the business community that the chamber in collaboration with CDA will resolve all their issues.
They also inspected the encroachments at the footpaths of markets which have created great hurdles for the pedestrians and markets. Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan said at the occasion that the chamber will try to devise a committee with the cooperation of the presidents of the markets for removing the encroachments in collaboration with CDA.
Speaking at the occasion, Chairman CDA Aamir Ali Ahmad said that the CDA has decided to upgrade the basic infrastructure of the markets. Carpeting of roads, repairing of footpaths, restoration of street lights, betterment of sewerage and sanitation system, and beautification of markets included in the devised plan for the markets. A number of developmental projects have been initiated in Islamabad. Business community will witness a visible change in the capital very soon, he further said.
