President Dr Arif Alvi has said that huge changes are taking place in the field of information technology throughout the world and urged the youth to take benefit of it.
The president was addressing an international webinar “Current Entrepreneurship Aspect in the Digital World,” arranged by the Joint Cultural Society for Communities Collaboration to discuss the visions and trends in the digital world and the role of youth considering the latest changes in artificial intelligence. People around the world attended the webinar.
The president said that revolutions are taking place in computing, processing of data and analysing artificial intelligence, internet data, mobile computing, internet and social networking. He added that the present government has developed the human resource for the technological world craving for trained youth.
Dr Alvi said that Higher Education Commission (HEC) is also offering free courses and urged the people to learn developing software and smart apps as the global virtual capital or the brick-and-mortar businesses were also in search of investing in the startups and smart apps developers.
He referred to the technological gap being created due to immense wonders in the IT field and said information was the medium in which people of the world were making strides. Young population of Pakistan could access the global information world after developing skills in the relevant field, he maintained.
The president said the TEVTA Punjab, in collaboration with Facebook/Meta, had trained 3,000 women to access the world and was planning further to train about 100,000 females.
He hoped that the youth of the country would prepare themselves for the rapid IT changes taking place around the world and would bring laurels to the country, besides getting earning opportunities.
Taking part in the discussion, Ahmed Ali Sirohey, ambassador of Pakistan at Niamey, said opportunities were being created for women’s financial empowerment in the IT sector.
Arooba Gillani, head of placement NUST, said that development in the IT field like usage of different social apps was providing facilities and ease to a society. Fariha Abrar, accredited Cambridge Instructor, said creation of virtual ledger opened vast opportunities in the IT world.
