Aiwan-e-Sadar has written a letter to the Election Commission for holding general elections.
The EC has been directed to propose dates for holding election within 90 days of dissolution of National Assembly (NA).
It has been said in the context of the letter that election for NA is required to be held within 90 days from date of dissolution of assembly.
The letter further said that consultation with the EC is imperative under Election Act-2017 for announcing the schedule for the election.
It is pertinent to mention here that President Arif Alvi had dissolved NA under the advice of Prime Minister.
