The tribesmen held strong protest demonstration against power outages in Mohmand district on Saturday.
Led by tribal elders Malik Nazir, Malik Alamgir and Malik Rehmanullah, a large number of tribesmen blocked Bajaur-Peshawar Highway and chanted slogans against wapda officials and relevant authorities.
They also chanted slogans Senator Hilal Rehman and MNA Sajid Khan Mohmand for neglecting the area.
The protestors alleged that the people of Mohmand district were deprived of the power to provide electricity to marble and steel factories.
Long queues of vehicles were witnessed on both sides of road due to closure of Bajaur-Peshawar Highway.
Later the administration held dialogues with the protestors, assured to resolve the issue after which they cleared the road and dispersed peacefully.
