Protest held against police failure to recover kidnapped persons

A massive protest demonstration against police failure in recovering the kidnapped persons was held on Wednesday. A large number of local people, civil society, traders and relatives of abductees blocked National highway near toll plaza kandhkot.
The protest which lasted for over five to six hours caused severe traffic jam on the artery. On occasion they burnt tyres and wooden desks while shouted slogans against the district police for completely failing in protecting the life and the property of the citizens.
The demonstrators demanded from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, DIGP larkana and other law enforcement agencies for early and safe recovery of the abductees.
Later local police negotiated with protesters breaking off the protest and restoring the traffic. It is pertinent to add here that the kidnaping for ransom not a new thing or a new trend in district Kashmore but from last few months, an unexpected rise has been witnessed in the highway robberies, firing at vehicles and the kidnappings of various vehicle’s drivers and labourers on gun point.
Meanwhile more than two dozans captives are still in the cultches of the kidnappers but police so far have failed to locate their whereabouts. Local people of district kashmore @ kandhkot have expressed their grave concerns over increasing cases of kidnapping.
They complained that local people particularly poorer, labourers and belonging to local villagers have become a soft target for kidnapping while the criminals of katcha area are getting more stronger since previous years.
Although the district police seem least bothered to initiate some stern against criminals of both kacha and paka area of Kashmore. On other hands Kashmore police claimed to have held two dacoits in an injured condition within the limits of police A section Kandhkot.
According to press release, it is stated that kandhkot city police was on their routine patrolling, to seeing police vehicles a group of motorcyclists accelerated their bikes and truned an other way to link road, police chased them while they fired at police on retaliation police also fired at them as a result they caught two outlaws identified khan Mohammad and Manzoor nindqani in injured condition. Police said that several cases had been lodged against them at various PSc while further investigation is under the way.
