LANDIKOTAL: People of Landikotal staged a protest demonstration to express their anger over a price hike of wheat flour in Landikotal on Sunday.
The protesters gathered at Bacha Khan Chowk holding placards and chanted slogans again federal and provincial governments.
Jamat-e-Islami local leader Muqtadar Afridi, Awami national Party leader Shah Hussain Shinwari, Mirajuddin Shinwari and Kaleemullah Shinwari spoke to the protesters.
The speakers said that a steep rise in the price of wheat flour showed that both the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government have failed to provide relief to common man. They said that government intentionally compelling and pushing poor masses in starvation.
They demanded a forthwith notice of the sudden steep hike of wheat flour price in Landikotal and provide relief to laymen.
It is noteworthy to mention here that the price of 20 kilograms flourbag soared from Rupees 2400 to Rupees 3150 in a night in Landikotal.
