Awami National Party (ANP) parliamentary leader and provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak said on Saturday that without ensuring provincial autonomy the dream of an economically stable Pakistan could not come true.
He said that supremacy of constitution and parliament could mitigate the financial woes of the country, adding that constitutional rights to provinces, cordial relations with neighbor countries, freedom of expression, protection of human rights, independent judiciary and independent election commission could lead the country towards prosperity and development.
In a statement issued from the Bacha Khan Markaz, ANP leader said that its party leadership had a history of struggle to ensure supremacy of parliament and played key role in restoration of democracy in the country.
“Our forefathers were jailed, detained and suffered financial losses but did not give up their struggle for provincial autonomy and raised effective voice for the rights of the province,” he added.
ANP provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak said that its party has always voiced at every forum to ensure the implementation of the 18th Constitutional Amendment and every worker of ANP was tirelessly fighting for humanity.
All the political parties of the country have started imitating the historical politics of ANP, he added.
Mr Babak said ANP believe in friendly relations with neighbors as its party manifesto and would preach the lessons of love and humanity, adding that struggle for power has not been the history of ANP.
Mr Babak said violation of constitution has created numerous problems and halted the smooth process of development in the country.
“Pakhtunkhwa is the richest province of the country but unfortunately the oppressive and self-interested occupation mafia has made the life of Pakhtuns miserable,” he added.
He said now people will no longer be fooled by anyone’s emotional slogans and false promises and hoped that ANP would gain the public support.
People should support ANP and take ANP’s message door to door to ensure restoration of democracy and supremacy of parliament, he added.
