Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) finance minister Temour Saleem Jhagra paid a visit to Torkham on Wednesday and examined the arrangements, made to keep the Pak-Afghan sharing border operative for day and night.
Flanked by personal sectary of chief minister KP,Shahab Ali Shah, deputy commissioner, Khyber Mehmood Aslam,the minister reviewed the process to keep the border operational round the clock.
Talking on the occasion Temour Saleem Jhagra said that the incumbent governments of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI)in center and in the province fulfilled their pledged to keep open the Torkham border for 24 hours that not only benefitted the pedestrians but would also play a vital role to change fate of the tribal region.
The affirmative initiative of the government would have positive effect on the country economy and would certainly facilitate the business community, he maintained.
He added that in coming days the Prime Minster would formally open the 24/7 plan of keeping the Torkham border functional.
Prior to it, the visiting minister and other officials were briefed on security measures adopted at the border beside the officials also reviewed preparations made for the 24/7 scheme operation of Torkham border.
It is worth mention here that last night as per direction of the Prime Minster Imran, experimental base night shift was started to retain the Torkham border functional for 24 hours.
