The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) organised an awareness session for women entrepreneurs linked to Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI).
Speaking at the session, Regional Head PSX North Syed Asghar Abbas Naqvi, Zahid Latif Khan and other speakers informed the participants about saving and investments in the stock market.
They also shed light on the PSX initiatives, benefits of long-term investment and returns in comparison with other asset classes.
The speakers stressed the importance of stock exchange and termed it a barometer to measure the economic strength.
The stock exchange is a key financial institution in any economy which let individual investors and investment firms move resources to places where there are needed, they said, adding that health of any economy and future trends can be evaluated through a stock exchange
Some of the many benefits that come with being listed on a stock exchange include access to capital, enhanced visibility and increased legitimacy, the stock market experts said.
At the occasion, PSX and IWCCI also signed an MOU after which founder president IWCCI and Samina Fazil said that women entrepreneurs usually suffer from a lack of affordable capital.
There must be a mechanism enabling them to quickly raise affordable capital to help the company grow and pay for different costs.
Rizwana Asif, President IWCCI said businesswomen deserve easy access to cheap capital through the stock exchange to grow and earn profit from the fast-growing economy.
