Gender rights activists discussed women’s role in democracy, politics

Riffat Sardar, Senior Vice President of the KP Women Wing said that the PTI manifesto’s commitment to pro-women laws and the creation of an enabling environment to protect women from harassment, exploitation, and discrimination was highlighted.
Responding to various questions from journalists at a round table discussion organized by the Women Action Forum and Women Journalist Caucus at National Press Club in Islamabad she said, The party’s manifesto comprehensively addresses key areas essential to women’s progress, such as political participation, economic empowerment, education, health, gender-based violence (GBV), and social protection through initiatives like the Ehsaas Program.
She provided valuable insights into the party’s unwavering commitment to gender equality. Fielding questions from journalists, Sardar emphasized PTI’s dedication to promoting gender parity.
Sardar’s presentation eloquently portrayed the party’s dedication to advancing women’s rights and ensuring their active participation across all sectors of society.
Rifat Sardar further advocated for the establishment of sports grounds exclusively dedicated to girls and women, the creation of a women’s cricket league, and increased representation of women on boards, including water boards. The importance of technical support for women in the livestock sector was also stressed to ensure holistic development.
The Round Table discussion emerged as a pivotal platform for political parties to engage in substantive conversations, showcasing their commitment to advancing women’s rights.
