Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter on Tuesday hailed the Supreme’s Court verdict which termed the Punjab Assembly deputy speaker rulling about the Chief Minister election unlawful and directed the Pakistan Muslim League Q (PML-Q) leader Pervez Elahi to take oath as new Chief Minister of the province.
In a statement issued by the Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that the Supreme Court has announced its verdict and termed Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Hamza Shehbaz as an illegal Chief Minister of Punjab.
“The court has annulled the ruling of Deputy Speaker Punjab Dost Mohammad Mazari,” he added.
He said that PTI workers and leaders from KP appreciated the decision made by the apex court and congratulated Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on being elected Chief Minister of Punjab.
“Hamza Shehbaz is no more Chief Minister, a dark era of Punjab is coming to an end,” Barrister Saif said.
Special Assistant to CM-KP also criticized the leadership of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and accused them of attacking the country institutions including for the recent decision.
He said that the PDM has used Punjab police and other law enforcement agencies against PTI leaders and workers always tried to suppress the rights of voters but today the apex court dash to land all their hopes.
The leaders, workers and people of KP supported the decision of Superem Court and congratulate PML-Q for its unprecedented victory in Punjab Assembly, he added.
In a separate statement, Minister for Higher Education KP Kamran Bangash has said that PTI majority was manipulated by the PDM but the apex court restored it with its historical rulling.
He said PML-N leaders used to make controversial the decisions taken by judiciary as per the constitution.
He said that PTI believed in the democracy and always honoured the decisions of courts,adding that Pervez Ellahi was its party candidate for CM Punjab.
