PESHAWAR
PTI leader Mashal Yousufzai has emerged triumphant in Senate election in KP.
Joint candidate of opposition Mehtab Zafar secured 53 votes while Mashal Yousufzai of PTI secured 86 votes.
Independent candidate Saima Khalid got only one vote while two votes were rejected.
Talking to media after winning Senate Election, Mashal Yousufzai said PTI founder reposed trust on her and she became the youngest senator of the country. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur extended full support. I am grateful to barrister Gohar, leaders and workers.
She said our three votes were rejected. One MPA is sick and no vote of PTI was cast to any other candidate .
It is honor given by my leader. I have not met my leader since five months.
She remarked vote has not been given to Mashal but vote has been given to vision of Imran ideology.
CM KP Gandapur left the KP assembly after voting and went away.
When asked about convictions of PTI leaders and workers by journalists, he said counting is underway in connection with Senate polls and he can offer no comment.
CM KP left away without giving any answer.
