Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Aimal Wali Khan on Tuesday alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-i- Insaf (PTI) MPAs and MNAs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) were employing all possible tactics to influence upcoming local government elections, adding that Chief Minister and his ministers violating election code of conduct in the province.
In a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, he alleged that Chief Minister-KP and other ministers were inaugurating developmental schemes after the announcement of local body polls in the province.
“Chief Minister himself is going to the places where elections are taking place and announcing fake development works,” he wrote in the letter.
He accused MNAs and MPAs of throwing support to those contesting polls on PTI tickets.
The letter further said that the provincial government and government representatives were violating the code of conduct. He said that ruthless use of government resources, development projects were being announced.
The provincial president Aimal Wali requested the Chief Election Commissioner to take notice of the matter and instruct PTI ministers to remain neutral in local body polls in KP.
It is pertinent to mention that local body polls are scheduled for December 19 2021 in KP.
