TIMERGARA
Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday that Imran Khan’s slogan of “Naya Pakistan”was a political gimmick to deceive voters and termed his era full of political revenges.
During his visit to Dir’s Timergara, the PPP chairman addressed a worker convention in Rest House Ground.
“During the era of the PM of Zaman Park, the politics of revenge was stressed upon under the guise of a ‘’Naya Pakistan’ while following the same old traditional patterns. Instead of providing the people with millions of jobs and houses that were promised, Khan wasted the opportunity to serve the people by focusing on revenge,” he said.
He said that the elders of this land supported Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and we were able to get an Islamic, democratic federal Constitution, while attaining the rights of the farmers and labourers, atomic and simultaneously getting the opportunity to lead the Muslim Ummah.
The people then stood shoulder to shoulder with Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto which made it possible for an unarmed woman to face two dictators.
Bilawal said that the people made their sister, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto the first woman prime minister in the history of the Islamic world, and she struggled for democracy and the rights of the people for three decades.
When she was martyred, the people elected the PPP and it triumphed in the 2008 elections, after which the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was able to get its own identity and share.
We are grateful to the people for struggling alongside us for the restoration of the 1973 Constitution, 18th Amendment, NFC Award and establishing of the Benazir Income Support Programme, as a means of fulfilling the dream of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. These are the biggest achievements of the Jiyalas.
President Zardari continued this struggle by widening the canvas of services provided to the people through laying the foundation for CPEC, he added and said that. The purpose of this project was to help the downtrodden masses and ensure that they are given the most benefit and opportunities, including the victims of terrorism.
“Through a conspiracy, the benefits that were supposed to be reaped by the people of Dir through the CPEC were manoeuvred elsewhere, but the PPP will see to it that the CPEC route touches the area,” Bilawal claimed.
The PPP chairman furthered that Pakistan is currently suffering because of the system of traditional politics based on hatred and division, which has now been resorted to an outlet for carrying out personal vendetta against each other.
“One political party intends to win the elections solely to extract political revenge, while the other too wants the same. No other party can compete with the injustices meted out to the Jiyalas of the PPP and the sacrifices they have rendered,” he sai.
However, not once has the PPP engaged in political revenge as it does not believe in harbouring personal vendetta. The PPP’s sole focus and politics has been for the sake of the people, not its own ego or enmities.
